At the time of this writing, I’m in what I call An Editing Cave. I barely know what time of day it is or how much time has passed when I’m editing videos.
I decided to crawl out for a minute and finally check my phone. So glad I did! My sister had texted, I called her back. After our quick 1hr47min convo, we both got off the phone having prayed for and encouraged each other to the point of screaming (not unusual).
Here is one thing she shared that I loved—she gave me permission to post it. She’s been taking golf lessons. While practicing, she had about 95 balls in a basket waiting to be hit. She said she hits her first one and the result is her asking, “Everyone okay?!” Ha! But she keeps hitting. It gets better. She said whatever’s in us, we need to just GET IT OUT. In the beginning, it’s not in the precision, it’s in the numbers. Precision will come, just keep hitting the balls.
My takeaway: even if the aim and technique are off, we need to get out the ideas, abilities, and possibilities God has placed in us—get’em OUT—keep hitting (doing, starting, trying, developing, creating, building, calling, preparing, expressing, practicing, praying, asking…) until our basics—our potential, hopes, or hobbies—become skill.
She had 95 balls in her basket but fortunately, our basket is always replenished when we’re doing all we do as unto God. Hit, throw, pitch, toss, kick whatever is in your basket, on down the road, (and repeat) until it lands where it’s meant to—where you’re meant to be and next to who you’re meant to be around.
Hope that encourages someone to continue if so called.
